I imagine that some time after the Mary drama is over, John is still upset and complaining about how none of his relationships ever work out. and saying he should just give up, and Sherlock just quietly saying ‘well, what about me?’ and John not really understanding just goes “What about you?” and Sherlock gathers up all the strength he has, looks John directly in the eyes and says “What. About. Me.” and John just freezes
